Biographical Statement

Yilmaz is EU Jean Monnet Professor in International Political Economy and full professor of economics at the Sabanci University in Istanbul. Yilmaz holds a BA in economics from Istanbul University and a PhD in economics from Bonn University, Germany. His main fields of interest include the economics of European integration, international political economy, newly emerging markets, foreign direct investments, and globalization. Yilmaz is currently working on a project called "The Challenges to Turkey in the Beginning of the Twenty-first Century." He will be in residence at CES from January through July of 2008.
