Biographical Statement

Guenther is an assistant professor of sociology at California State University, Fullerton. Her areas of specialization include gender, social inequalities, qualitative epistemologies, and political sociology, especially social movements and the welfare state. She is working on a study of the development of local feminist movements in eastern Germany since the collapse of state socialism in 1989. Guenther received her PhD in sociology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2006. She will be in residence at CES during the spring semester, 2008.
