Jytte Klausen

Klausen is professor of comparative politics at Brandeis University. Her new book, The Cartoons That Shook the World, about the global protests against the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, will be published in November. Her previous book, entitled The Islamic Challenge: Politics and Religion in Western Europe (2005; paperback 2007), was published in a German translation as Europas muslimische Eliten: Wer sie sind und was sie wollen (2006), and in Turkish as İslamı yeniden düşünmek: Batı avrupa’da siyaset ve din (2008). Klausen’s new research is about church-state law in Europe and the integration of Islam.
