Biographical Statement
Soroka is currently studying the emergence of political parties in East-Central Europe and the former Soviet Union. He is specifically concerned with the intersection between interest groups, parties and the state apparatus, particularly as this relates to normative conceptions of democratic representation and its consolidation. Additional interests include immigration and the changing demographics of the European continent, the politics of identity (focusing primarily on religion) and the growth of far-right movements in Europe.
