Stephen Kalberg

Kalberg is associate professor of sociology at Boston University where he teaches courses in sociological theory and comparative political cultures. He is the author of numerous articles on Max Weber, editor of a selection of Weber's writings on modernity (2005), and translator of Max Weber: The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (2011). His general introduction to Weber has been published in German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Turkish. Kalberg has also published widely on German and American political and economic cultures. This year he will be investigating the "cultural foundations" of citizenship and finishing work on Max Weber's Sociology of Civilizations.
