Jolyon Howorth

Howorth is visiting professor of political science at Yale University, Jean Monnet Professor of European Politics at the University of Bath, UK, and visiting professor at Sciences-Po, Paris. Recent publications include Security and Defense Policy in the European Union (2007), Defending Europe: The EU, NATO and the Quest for European Autonomy (with J. Keeler, 2003), and European Integration and Defense: The Ultimate Challenge? (2000), plus articles on European security and defense policy in numerous journals. Howorth is working on an EU-sponsored project on identity and defense. He isa senior research associate at the Institut Français des Relations Internationales, Paris, a member of the scientific advisory committee of the European Institute for Public Administration, Maastricht, and European defense analyst for Oxford Analytica.
