Biographical Statement
Dabrowski is the author of Commemorations and the Shaping of Modern Poland (2004). Her most recent articles have appeared in The Austrian History Yearbook, East Central Europe, L’Europe du Centre-Est, Eine wissenschaftliche zeitschrift, Nationalities Papers, and Slavic Review. She is currently writing a second book, tentatively entitled, “Discovering” the Carpathians: Episodes in Imagining and Reshaping Ethnic Borderland Regions. Research for this book has been conducted with the financial support of Fulbright and IREX fellowships in Ukraine and Poland, respectively. In the fall of 2009, Dabrowski will be teaching at UMass-Amherst. Her interests include nationalism and identity formation, borderland and regional issues, environmental history, and the intersection of culture and politics in Central and Eastern Europe.
