Elizabeth P. Coughlan

Coughlan is associate professor at Salem State College where she teaches European politics. She has traveled to Poland and Germany as a Fulbright scholar and is the author of Polish Peculiarities? Military Loyalty during the 1980–81 Solidarity Crisis (1999). She has published several articles on post-communist civil-military relations in Poland. Her broader research interests include the development and diffusion of socialism as a political ideal during the twentieth century.
