Michael A. Baum

Baum teaches comparative politics at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and is an executive board member of its Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture. He has published on Portuguese political behavior, attitudes, and electoral politics, with a recent focus on women’s political participation in Portugal. He has published articles in the European Journal of Political Research, South European Society and Politics, various edited volumes, and a number of Portuguese social science journals. During the summer he leads a study-abroad program about Portugal and the EU in Lisbon with students from all over North America. Baum is also co-chair of the Iberian Study Group.
