Jonathan Laurence

Laurence is assistant professor of political science atBoston College and non-resident senior fellow at theBrookings Institution. He teaches courses on modernEuropean politics, state-church relations, and Islam inEurope. He is co-author of Integrating Islam (2006) and iscompleting a book on the geopolitics of Islam in the West(forthcoming). His articles have appeared in EuropeanPolitical Science, Esprit, Foreign Affairs, Formiche,French Politics Culture and Society, German Politicsand Society, Italian Foreign Policy, Italian Politics andSociety, Neue Soziale Bewegungen, New Europe Review,Perspectives on Politics, and The Tocqueville Review. Hehas also authored policy reports for the International CrisisGroup, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the BrookingsInstitution, and the Transatlantic Academy. Laurencereceived his PhD in government from Harvard in 2006.
