Matthieu Glaumaud-Carbonnier

Glaumaud-Carbonnier holdsthe Agrégation in History, and he is currently a history PhDstudent at the Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne(France). In 2009-2010 he will be at Harvard as a specialstudent. At CES he will pursue his doctoral researchin early modern French history. At the crossroads ofsocial, cultural and legal history, his thesis focuses on therelationships between the urban environment by night inParis, the uses of nighttime by the people of the city, theattitude of the public authorities towards nightlife and thelegal responses to night disorders. He is interested in theconstruction of normative systems through history.
