Biographical Statement
Temkin is assistant professor at the Harvard Kennedy School. Previously, he taught at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris and at Columbia University. He received his BA at the Hebrew University and his MA, MPhil, and PhD in History at Columbia. He is the author of The Sacco-Vanzetti Affair: America on Trial (2009), an international history of one of the major legal and political episodes of the twentieth century. His current research projects include a history of the death penalty in transatlantic perspective, a study of Malcolm X's career and politics in global context, and a history of internationalism and political culture in Europe between the two world wars.
