Biographical Statement

As Building Manager, Sandy is responsible for all aspects of the interior and exterior maintenance and repair of the Center's home in Busch Hall. This includes the beautiful inner courtyard "protected" by the Braunschweig Lion statue that watches over the aesthetic pool, fountain, and faculty offices. She also supports the office needs of the academic and staff occupants of the building and provides key orientation to the building for new residents. She works with the Center's financial office and Office of Physical Resources on budgeting for building maintenance and is the liaison between the Center and Harvard University Art Museum officials on matters related to Busch Hall. She’s in charge of Busch Hall/CES rentals and is also transportation coordinator for CES residents. Sandy has been at the Center since June, 1989 when the renovation of Busch Hall was completed.Sandy’s background a B.A. in English as well as a Master's degree in Elementary Ed. from New York University as well as various coursework at the New School for Social Research, the University of Colorado, Hofstra University, and Harvard University Summer School. She also attended the United Nations International School in Queens, NY through the 5th grade, where she first gained an interest in working with people from many different countries. Her main hobbies are bird and wildlife photography, biking, and swimming. Several articles and many of her photographs have been published in various local and national publications. She lives with her husband Don and 11 pet birds in Westford, MA.
