Biographical Statement
Spadafora is studying the history of methodological debates in the social sciences between 1890 and World War II. His research focuses on Austrian and German scholars and German-speaking émigrés in Britain and the United States, primarily those working in fields related to public policy such as sociology, law and economics. Particular interests include problems surrounding the fact-value distinction, objectivity and the relation between methods in the natural and social sciences.
