Biographical Statement
Csiszar researches a set of organizations and infrastructures built in the late nineteenth-century that were intended to rationalize and better control information transfer among natural scientists. His dissertation, based on a set of case-studies of individuals and organizations in France and the United Kingdom, will follow debates over communication and classification that were intended to solve at once technical problems of scientific practice and political problems of international cooperation.
