Biographical Statement
Cammack is working on a critical history of the rise of written constitutions, taking in the English civil war and commonwealth period, the American Revolution and founding, the French Revolution and culminating with Hegel and Marx’s criticisms of the modern liberal state. She is interested in all aspects of the Western tradition of political thought and practice, from the ancient Greeks to the present, although she has a special interest in the development and significance of representative democracy and capitalism in the modern world.
