Biographical Statement
Bail is a doctoral fellow in the multidisciplinary program on inequality and social policy at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and a Ph.D. candidate in the department of sociology at Harvard University. His research on symbolic boundaries against immigrants in Europe and comparative anti-racism has appeared in American Sociological Review and Revue Europeenne des migrations internationals. His current research compares the production and destruction of symbolic boundaries through comparative historical methods, network analysis of social movements, and longitudinal qualitative interviews collected after 9/11 and seven years later. He was previously a visiting scholar at the London School of Economics and a German Marshall Fund Fellow at the Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques, Paris, and at the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
