Biographical Statement
Wendt is senior research fellow at the MZES at Mannheim University, Germany. He received his Ph.D. at Heidelberg University, where his thesis won the Ruprecht-Karls-Prize. Wendt’s research interests include institutional theory, international comparisons of welfare states and healthcare systems, and the sociology of health. He is co-editor of Sociology of Health (2006) and, with T.R. Marmor, is currently co-editing a book entitled Reforming Healthcare Systems (2009). He has published in International Journal of Health Services, European Review, Social Policy & Administration, and other journals. Wendt is currently working on a project that investigates changing ideas and institutions in the field of healthcare. As a Kennedy Memorial fellow, he will be in residence at CES for the 2008-2009 academic year.
