Renée Haferkamp

Haferkamp has participated in all the important milestones in the development of the EU, from the period of Paul-Henri Spaak and Jean Monnet to Jacques Delors and Jose Manuel Barroso. At CES, she organizes a speaker series on recent developments of the EU, entitled "Challenges for the Twenty-first Century: European and American Perspectives." Speakers are hosted at CES, the Harvard Kennedy School, and Tufts University. Important past guests have included Bill Clinton, Val�ry Giscard d'Estaing, Jose-Manuel Barroso, Pascal Lamy, Mario Monti, Jose-Manuel Barroso, and many European Commissioners and members of the European Parliament. In 2009, speakers will include Javier Solana, Jean- Claude Piris, Joseph Weiler, Peter Sutherland, Karel De Boeck, Philippe Maystadt, and the Directors General of the European Commission for Trade and Justice, David O'Sullivan, and Freedom and Security, Jonathan Faull.
