Kathrin Zippel

Zippel is associate professor of sociology at Northeastern University. Her current work is on gender, science and the globalization of academic communities. She has published on public and social policy, gender politics, social movements, law, and the welfare state. Her book, The Politics of Sexual Harassment in the United States, the European Union and Germany was co-winner of the Victoria Schuck Award (American Political Science Association) and received an honorable mention from the Sex and Gender Section (American Sociological Association). Zippel has been a visitor at the = Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin, the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies in Washington, DC, the University of Athens, European University Institute in Florence, and a post-doctoral student at Columbia University.
