Sofia Perez

Perez is associate professor of political science at Boston University. Her main interests center on the relationship between different areas of economic regulation in Europe and elsewhere. Her work has focused in particular on identifying connections between the areas of the regulation of finance, macro-economic policy, wage bargaining structures and labor market regulation, social policy, and immigration policy. Her current research project focuses on the relationship between immigration policy, labor market, and welfare state features across EU member states, and the implications of these relationships for parties of the left and of the mainstream right. Perez also co-chairs the Iberian Studies Group at CES.
