Rosen is a professor of government at Harvard. He has recently joined the department from Lincoln College at the University of Oxford, where he had been a fellow and tutor in philosophy since 1990. His research crosses a number of fields and is unified in his attention to two issues: the relationship between philosophy and history and politics, and the relationship between the Anglo-American tradition of philosophy and Continental European philosophy. Rosen’s most recent book is On Voluntary Servitude: False Consciousness and the Theory of Ideology (1996); he is currently editing the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Continental Philosophy.
