Biographical Statement

Guillarme is a professor of political theory at Université Paris VIII and at Sciences-Po. He will be teaching in the department of government at Harvard, where he has also been a visiting fellow. His books include Rawls et l’égalité démocratique (1999), Penser la peine (2004), and Le Mérite et la Responsabilité (forthcoming). Guillarme is on the review committee for French Politics and Society and Raisons Politiques, among other publications, and has published numerous articles on Rawls, moral philosophy, and equality. In 2002 he was elected to the Institut Universitaire de France.
