Biographical Information

Former director of the Burkle Center for International Relations at UCLA, Rosecrance is a senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and author of Debat sur l’etat virtuel (2002). He is editor of The New Great Power Coalition (2001) and, with Arthur Stein, No More States? (2006). He is now completing a study called “Mergers among Nations,” which argues that states and firms confront many of the same incentives to increase production directly or else to merge with like-minded associates. In his view the European Union is the first and most significant of international merger products in world politics. Rosecrance is also principal investigator of the Belfer Center’s project (with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) on “Future Relations of the US and China.”
