Biographical Information
Mahaira-Odoni has taught political theory and international law. She has published many articles and critical reviews, mostly as an editorial associate of Telos, with particular emphasis on the political philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre. In 1991, she produced her debut CD, Mistral, following several other recordings. She translated and edited the Greek version of M. Stearns’s Entangled Allies: US Policy in Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus (1992), and of The Greek Paradox: Promise vs. Performance (1997/1998), as well as long segments from English and French for the three volumes of The Economic History of Byzantium (2002), which was published in Greek in 2007. Currently, she is doing research on Venetian colonial history in thirteenth-century Greece: a paper of hers on Venetian rule on the island of Sifnos is part of the 2007 CES Working Papers series. Mahaira-Odoni is co-chair of the Greek Study Group.
