Biographical Information

Gates’s recent publications have examined both the status of member state parliaments within the EU’s decision-making structure and EU negotiations with Turkey regarding accession. Her current research focuses on differences between men and women in the EU in levels of public support for European integration, the link between welfare states and support for the EU, and the nature of pre-accession aid fostering human rights reforms in Turkey.
