Biographical Information
Epstein, a former journalist, writes literary nonfiction. Her most recent book, Where She Came From: A Daughter’s Search for Her Mother’s History (1998), begun while Epstein was a Visiting Scholar at CES, is being published this year in Italian and Spanish translations. Her first book, Children of the Holocaust (1979), recently appeared as Le Traumatisme en Héritage. Epstein is also the English-language translator from the Czech of Heda Margolius Kovaly’s Under a Cruel Star (1985). Epstein is at work on a new book and guest-lectures widely.
