Biographical Information

Charles Cogan's new book, "La République de Dieu" will arrive in Paris bookstores on 22 February, coinciding with a five-part series on him, 25-29 February, on Radio France Culture. The book is a collection of essays on the idea of God; on evangelism ("La République de Dieu"); on Islamic fundamentalism ("L'Islam médiéval"); and followed by empirical chapters analyzing a number of conflicts between the Muslim and non-Muslim world: Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel/Palestine.

				<div style=Dr. Charles Cogan, a CES affiliate, is being awarded the Ernest Lemonon prize for the year 2006 by the Association des Sciences Morales et Politiques (ASMP) of the Institut de France, for his book entitled, "Diplomatie à la francaise," (Editions Jacob-Duvernet, 2005), an updated, French-language version of "French Negotiating Behavior: Dealing with la Grande Nation," (United States Institute of Peace Press, 2003). The medal prize is awarded each year to a work on contemporary foreign policy or on economic and social questions. It is named after the historian of the early 20th Century. The prize will be officially awarded on November 20, 2006 at the Institut de France in Paris.
