"To be at the Center for European Studies has been a real gift for me. I cannot imagine a better place for intellectual work, for research and writing. It provides silence, respect, constructive criticism, and the possibility of open exchanges with people who come from many countries and different fields of research as well, of course, as those at CES (faculty, staff and graduate students). At the seminars and in the many informal meeting places one has the opportunity to talk, debate and learn, receiving a lot and, hopefully, giving something back in return. I have enjoyed my time very much and I am grateful to CES for being so supportive and accommodating. In addition, I am most grateful for the access to the outstanding libraries and facilities of Harvard University."
