While CES does not charge an application fee, all accepted Visiting Scholars will be assessed a $500 processing fee per semester, or per four-month period if dates of residence are outside of normal term times. The fee is due upon arrival.

In addition, international visitors who apply for J visas are also responsible for paying all associated fees. These can include, but are not limited to:

• Visa Application Fee for Nonimmigrant visas ($140)
• SEVIS Fee ($180). Note that any J-2 dependents are NOT subject to the SEVIS Fee.
• Fees associated with telephone charges for making US Embassy or Consulate appointments
• Visa Issuance Fee. This will depend on the country where the visa is issued, but most visitors will not have to pay this fee. Please consult your US Embassy or Consulate to see if you will subject to this fee.
