Students with Italian Minister of Finance
Students interact with Italian Minister of Finance Domenico Siniscalco at a CES Breakfast
CES frequently offers events that are specifically tailored to undergraduate as well as graduate students. In addition to content, these are often a chance to interact with visitors and faculty in informal, small group settings.

  • Upcoming Events: Check back here for the latest information on Undergraduate events.

  • Guest Breakfast Series: Find out about taking part in intimate breakfast meetings with visiting dignitaries and politicians.

  • Movie Series: Read about European films screened by CES's Undergraduate Board.

  • NEW State-of-the-Field Dinner for Freshman

Last year, CES began a new dinner series that gives incoming students the chance take part in a discussion between two scholars on topics of contemporary importance. This is a unique chance to learn about debates and issues in Europe and globally and get to know faculty members and visiting scholars outside of the classroom, as well as to interact with other students from various concentrations, backgrounds and perspectives.

Movie Series
The CES Undergraduate Board screens major European films at the Center throughout the year. CES faculty are often invited to provide an introduction and a personal take on the movie, which generates interesting, interactive dialogue.

Citizen Havel is a new fly-on-the-wall documentary about the former Czech president. The film draws on 45 hours of unique behind-the-scenes footage of Václav Havel shot over a period of 13 years. The result is a film that lifts the curtain on the Havel presidency, in a way that no other politician has been captured on screen before.

Francois Truffaut's first and most personal feature film, told from the perspective of the director's lifelong cinematic counterpart, Antoine Doinel. Sensitively recreating the trials of Truffaut's own childhood, The 400 Blows unsentimentally portrays aloof parents, oppressive teachers, petty crime, and a friendship that would last a lifetime.
