CES Affiliates play an important role in the intellectual life of the Center, and are involved in Study Groups, events, and student activities. Affiliates are established scholars whose work focuses on Modern Europe and have an academic appointment at a local institution of higher education within 45 miles of Cambridge. Appointments as an Affiliate last for two years, at the end of which time must be renewed.
To become considered for affiliation, candidates are expected to have been active at CES for one year prior to their application. The application should include the following materials:
- A current CV
- A cover letter requesting affiliation
- A description of current work
- A Letter of Recommendation
